Your new magazine came in handy for us over the long weekend. I remembered there was an article in there about the Clevedon coast so I threw The Weekender (sic) in the car with the rest of our camping gear for our holiday at Miranda Hot Springs.

We had a good few days of great weather as I had taken Friday off work. Then the wind picked up on Saturday night and mid morning on Sunday two fibreglass poles of our tent had snapped and ripped though fly. So, our holiday was cut short by a day. How could we end this trip on a high? What could we do on the way home? I remembered I had packed The Weekender (sic) and we saw that the Clevedon Farmers Market would be on. So we enjoyed a nice drive a round the picturesque coast, a tour of the market and a cafe lunch.

I'm very pleased with the response we received from our ad in Weekend Magazine.

We have signed up 3 men as "Big Buddies" immediately as a result of our ad placed a week and a half ago. This response compares extremely well with other mediums like the NZ Herald, in fact is better than the Herald on average.

From surveys of our volunteers we know they don't contact us lightly, the commitment we ask for is serious and so many will ponder our ads for weeks or months. In many cases their partners will drive this process or friends will bring the ad to their attention.  I am therefore very pleased to know I will get even more responses from our ad as I can see the quality of your magazine will have it sitting on the coffee tables for many weeks.

On behalf of all of us at Big Buddy thank you - we are impressed.

I received your magazine whilst my husband and youngest child are away on a skiing trip to Ruapehu.  I’ve had much pleasure from reading the very readable length articles about the different destinations from near and far. Savouring the thought of my own imminent escape to the Wellington Wearable Art awards later this week, I have thoroughly enjoyed the tantalizing get-away temptations and I have read the magazine from cover to cover over several cups of coffee between my busy work as a speech-therapist.
Thank-you for the lovely surprise in my mail-box, I’ll be watching out for future publications, especially when planning a break both in NZ and afar.

I read the article A Vine Romance and immediately knew what to book for my wedding anniversary. Hotel du Vin.

I was delighted to recently receive a copy of the new Weekend Magazine in my letter box. It was a great read from cover to back and provide a diverse range of interesting articles and ideas on how to get the most from your weekends. For me, this magazine really hit the mark and filled a gap in the reading market that has been wide open for some time. Great thinking, great idea and definitely a magazine that I will keep as a reference.
I look forward to the next edition.

I took my girlfriends copy when I was visiting her in Herne Bay over the weekend. The articles are great, can I submit some of my own experiences?

Lisa – Herne Bay

I’ve been to the Hawkes Bay four weekends this year and I can thoroughly recommend Black Barn Vineyards. You should feature it, the accommodation is beautiful, great original art works and their own markets on the weekend.

What a nice surprise to find some free, unsolicited paperwork in my mail box which was not junk but a real treat!
Your magazine was refreshing and well written with excellent photos. It appeals to me personally because, as a busy fulltime primary school teacher with 2 school aged children, my weekends recently have been non-existent. In an effort to reclaim that work/life balance I have decided to take Fridays off next term (thanks to a supportive principal and husband!) If we do not refill our "wells" at the weekends we cannot give our all during the rest of the week.
All of the articles were interesting. I never thought of visiting Noumea for the weekend! I presume that in your first issue you are giving and overview of various weekend activities and locations. Can I suggest that you re-visit some of these locations in depth in later issues?
Earlier this year we stayed in Omapere at the Copthorne for a long weekend. we were SO lucky to be the only family on a Footprints Waipoua night guided tour. It was a truly magical, spiritual and uplifting experience which brought laughter and tears. The feeling of being in the Waipoua forest, led by amazing, totally friendly Maori guides who sang in the darkness - and then allowed us to turn on our torches and behold the awesome sight of Tahuna Mahuta will never be forgotten. The guides are just local men with a passion for their Maori ancestry and spirituality who share this eloquently.
Keep up the good work. I will subscribe for the year and hope the other editions live up to the standard of your first edition.

I hope you are all very pleased! Some nice comments indeed from some of your public!

Thank you for having us at the Weekend launch, I enjoyed it and also enjoyed reading your magazine, a good piece on the Montana Heritage Trail.
I hope everything goes swimmingly Travis…and that we can keep advertising in a beautifully presented, actually digested publication such as yours.

Congratulations on the magazine guys. Have just picked one up in the Koru and am enjoying the read.

Have had a good read of the magazine - it's great. Lots of great ideas for different budgets and age brackets. Good weighting to editorial content vs advertising. A definite 'keeper' for future reference.

Thanks for dropping in the magazine.
I actually received a copy in my letterbox (last weekend?) as did a couple of my team here. Lot’s of positive feedback about the magazine and the article.

Well it was opportune that I received "Weekend" magazine recently featuring "Raglan" as I was off there last weekend. I hadn't been there before but thoroughly enjoyed it. Laid-back, casual, a foodie's delight with lots of arts and crafts - we had breakfast at Aqua Velvet and lunch at Tongue & Groove... YUM...
The only thing is, a COAST bag would have made the packing easier....
