We had a good few days of great weather as I had taken Friday off work. Then the wind picked up on Saturday night and mid morning on Sunday two fibreglass poles of our tent had snapped and ripped though fly. So, our holiday was cut short by a day. How could we end this trip on a high? What could we do on the way home? I remembered I had packed The Weekender (sic) and we saw that the Clevedon Farmers Market would be on. So we enjoyed a nice drive a round the picturesque coast, a tour of the market and a cafe lunch.

We have signed up 3 men as "Big Buddies" immediately as a result of our ad placed a week and a half ago. This response compares extremely well with other mediums like the NZ Herald, in fact is better than the Herald on average. From surveys of our volunteers we know they don't contact us lightly, the commitment we ask for is serious and so many will ponder our ads for weeks or months. In many cases their partners will drive this process or friends will bring the ad to their attention. I am therefore very pleased to know I will get even more responses from our ad as I can see the quality of your magazine will have it sitting on the coffee tables for many weeks. On behalf of all of us at Big Buddy thank you - we are impressed.
Richard Aston, CEO Big Buddy Thank-you for the lovely surprise in my mail-box, I’ll be watching out for future publications, especially when planning a break both in NZ and afar.
Tracy Kendall Brent – Mt Eden I look forward to the next edition.
Christine Meads Lisa – Herne Bay Beau – Newmarket Your magazine was refreshing and well written with excellent photos. It appeals to me personally because, as a busy fulltime primary school teacher with 2 school aged children, my weekends recently have been non-existent. In an effort to reclaim that work/life balance I have decided to take Fridays off next term (thanks to a supportive principal and husband!) If we do not refill our "wells" at the weekends we cannot give our all during the rest of the week.
All of the articles were interesting. I never thought of visiting Noumea for the weekend! I presume that in your first issue you are giving and overview of various weekend activities and locations. Can I suggest that you re-visit some of these locations in depth in later issues?
Earlier this year we stayed in Omapere at the Copthorne for a long weekend. we were SO lucky to be the only family on a Footprints Waipoua night guided tour. It was a truly magical, spiritual and uplifting experience which brought laughter and tears. The feeling of being in the Waipoua forest, led by amazing, totally friendly Maori guides who sang in the darkness - and then allowed us to turn on our torches and behold the awesome sight of Tahuna Mahuta will never be forgotten. The guides are just local men with a passion for their Maori ancestry and spirituality who share this eloquently.
Keep up the good work. I will subscribe for the year and hope the other editions live up to the standard of your first edition.

Thank you for having us at the Weekend launch, I enjoyed it and also enjoyed reading your magazine, a good piece on the Montana Heritage Trail. I hope everything goes swimmingly Travis…and that we can keep advertising in a beautifully presented, actually digested publication such as yours.
Helen Sanders - Auckland Regional Council
Russell - Ness Consulting Dianne I actually received a copy in my letterbox (last weekend?) as did a couple of my team here. Lot’s of positive feedback about the magazine and the article.
Andrew Chisholm CEO Franchised Businesses Limited The only thing is, a COAST bag would have made the packing easier....
